Renormalization scheme and mass scale independence

چکیده
We demonstrate that in the mass-independent renormalization scheme, group equations associated with unphysical parameters characterize scheme and mass scale leads to summation results a cancellation between implicit explicit dependence on these parameters. The resulting perturbative expansion is consequently independent of arbitrary illustrate this by considering R, cross section for e + – → hadrons.

Achieving renormalization–scale– and scheme–independence in Padé–related resummation in QCD
Previously developed Padé–related method of resummation for QCD observables, which achieves exact renormalization–scale–invariance, is extended so that the scheme–invariance is obtained as well. The dependence on the leading scheme parameter c2 is eliminated by a variant of the method of the principle of minimal sensitivity. The subleading parameter c3 in the approximant is then fixed in such a...
متن کاملOptimal Renormalization Scale and Scheme for Exclusive Processes
We use the BLM method to x the renormalization scale of the QCD coupling in exclusive hadronic amplitudes such as the pion form factor and the photon-to-pion transition form factor at large momentum transfer. Renormalization-scheme-independent commensurate scale relations are established which connect the hard scattering sub-process amplitudes that control exclusive processes to other QCD obser...
متن کاملRenormalons and the Renormalization Scheme
According to the recent paper [1], existence or absence of renormalon singularities is related with the analiticity properties of the Gell-Mann – Low function β(g) (g is a coupling constant). Briefly, the results are as follows: (a) Renormalon singularities are absent, if β(g) has a proper behavior at infinity, β(g) ∼ g with α ≤ 1, and its singularities at finite points gc are sufficiently weak...
متن کاملRenormalization Scheme Dependence
The running couplings such as λ(E) depend not only on the energy scale E but also on the specific rules we use to fix the finite parts of δλ(E) and other counterterms. If we change those rules — collectively known as the renormalization scheme — then for the same energy scale E we would get a slightly different running coupling λ(E) 6= λ(E). The difference is due to quantum corrections which us...
